Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Newton County Criminal History. Continuing to use the website signals agreement with all terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. Newton County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or any other Fair Credit Reporting Act purpose. The resource helps readers locate criminal-record sources in Newton County, Missouri. It is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a public office. It does not store official criminal records, conduct official checks, retrieve files, or submit documents for a user.

Its role is to identify the Newton County Sheriff, criminal courts, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, Missouri Sex Offender Registry, and other sources that hold the relevant records, along with optional outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Use the service in violation of federal, Missouri, or local law
  • Interfere with site speed, availability, or another visitor’s access
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Rely on site content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Missouri restricts misuse of Missouri Sex Offender Registry data. Registry publication supports community safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Newton County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, consumer report, or official background check. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for applicant screening, rental review, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. Data reached through the site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Set an insurance premium or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out another FCRA-regulated purpose

A check needed for a regulated purpose must come from Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS when its official process applies or from a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about Newton County records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement law affects one person. A licensed Missouri attorney must provide that advice.

6. No Warranties

All material is offered “as is,” without a guarantee that:

  • A partner’s search result will be complete or correct
  • Every page is free from bugs, mistakes, or security flaws
  • The service will always remain available without interruption
  • Published information is complete, accurate, or current

Charges are filed, changed, dismissed, closed, and expunged over time. Updates can therefore lag. No statement here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or other government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Missouri agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Following one leaves this platform. We do not control the destination’s content, privacy practices, charges, or availability, and users should review its terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Newton County Criminal History or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damage arising from site use, including reliance on material found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to hold the operator harmless from a claim, demand, or action caused by that user’s conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the new version appears on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected provision is adjusted only to the extent needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
